Without their support this rally would not be possible!
The Rally is open to pilots (with at least a Sport Pilot license) of single and multi-engine piston aircraft with a minimum range of 400 miles. Student pilots may participate as pilots if they are accompanied by an appropriately rated flight instructor, otherwise there are no restrictions placed on students. Copilots/navigators need not be licensed, nor even a pilot, to participate.
One of our long-time Rally participants has generously funded a scholarship to pay the crew entry fees for up to three first time rally crews. We would like to invite any CFIs, student pilots (must fly with a CFI), or flight schools to apply.
Application for the scholarship is simple: Indicate your flight school or club affiliation on the entry form page 2 and check the appropriate box on page 3. Do not pay any fees until contacted by the Rally Committee. Please submit your entry form by April 30 for scholarship consideration.
The award of this scholarship is at the sole discretion of the Rally Committee.
The entry fees for the 2018 Rally are listed below.
The basic entry fee includes the pilot and co-pilot entry, the awards banquet, access to the hospitality suite, and all the flying fun you can handle. There are additional charges for extra passengers. The Rally entry fees are as follows:
|Pilot / Co-Pilot||$350 per team|
|Polo Shirt||$30 each|
|Extra Awards Dinner Tickets||$75 each|
You may now pay the entry fees online using or a credit card. This will be done with a secure PayPal transaction. Please visit our Payment page.
If you pay the entry fees online using PayPal, you MUST still mail in your completed entry form.
Participants are responsible for making and paying for their own hotel reservations - this is not included in the Rally entry fees.
For 2018, hotel rates have not been negotiated in Hayward. If you need a hotel in Hayward, we suggest the La Quinta. It is just around the corner near the entrance to the Hayward Airport, and is within reasonable walking distance to the rally parking area of the ramp.
Note that AAA discounts for some room types appear to only be available over the phone. The hotel
phone number is (510) 732-6300. This hotel is normally full during the rally, so reserve your room early!
In Reno, our host hotel is the Renaissance
Reno Downtown by Marriott (formerly the Siena
Reno). The Rally Committee has reserved a block of
rooms at a special rate of $119 per night, plus tax. Each
participant must contact the hotel to secure and pay for
the number of rooms they need. You are free to stay at
other hotels as well.
